Well, apparently BS3 and Windows don't like each other at this point in their relationship and windows closes before BS3 has time to finish writing out its files (your data). force shutdown?" If you don't force shutdown Windows waits for the program to finish up and close before shutting down the computer (all is well). It says something like "waiting on a program to close. I think almost everyone has seen the message windows gives you when shut down your computer and there is stubborn program still running. When you close BS3 it continues running for a while until it finishes writing out all its files (your data). Here it is: Closing BS then quickly shutting down the computer. ![]() So, after hours of running all kinds of scenarios I found the what caused the issue. I took it upon my self to find what caused the issue. ![]() I do not have OneDrive on this computer, so that was not it. His only guidance was that one person had the same issue and Microsoft OneDrive had been the cause. I was horrified to find most of my recipes were gone. I then started BS3 and bypassed the "another copy may be running" error message and started BS3. Everything went well for a couple days, then I went to open BS3 and got the message "another copy may be running" after messing around with closing and re-closing the program I checked with task manager and confirmed BS3 was not running. I imported my files from BS2 and began working on one of those recipes for my next brew. I have been using BS2 for ever and recently downloaded the BS3 trial. I run Windows, and could find nothing for windows users. I found only one solution for this, but is was for a mac. I am just posting this in case anyone else has data loss issues in BS3. It feels like a bug, but maybe there's some subtlety about the software I'm missing.I want to start by saying I do love Beersmith. Could it be trying to interpret field as a regular expression, failing and then just giving up?ĭoes anyone know if there is a command line switch to enable console debug logging? I just see the log relating to window sizes etc. ![]() I have a specific naming convention for my beers which includes the "-" minus and " " space characters as well as "." period. I'm thinking it might be a problem with the tokenisation of the CSV file when Beersmith reads it in. If I try to import as sensor colour ANY I get some data points, but the temperatures and SGs do not simply correlate to the values I see, though the SG does match for the latest SG on the RED Tilt Beer. I deleted all the log files on the TiltPi as I know there appears to be an upper limit to the number of data points in Beersmith when using single and multiple Tilts, I increase the sampling period to get round that. I have checked and played about with the brew date as I know that can be a problem (It would be great if the Date format preference also extended to the Brewed date as I cannot get it to display non US format). Previously I had no real difficulty in importing the CSV data for the YELLOW and PURPLE Tilts, but when I added a new beer yesterday Beersmith now (RED) it does not import any of the CSV data. I'm using Beersmith on Ubuntu and I have 3 Tilt Pros, RED, YELLOW and PURPLE. The import file is log.csv and it's about 4k in size. ![]() I can't get Beersmith3 to import my Tilt Pro data anymore.
